for the Royal Air Force's Harrier jump-jet constructing "portable"
landing pads to enable the aircraft to land anywhere. Our task
is crucial, the safety of the pilot and their £20 million
aircraft are in our hands. We also repair battle-damaged airfields
ensuring they are quickly made operational once more.

The Squadron's
primary role of airfield damage repair. |
The role of 575 Fd Sqn RE (V) is to provide Air Support as
directed by RHQ 73 Engr Regt in support of 12 Air Support
Engineer Brigade. The Sqn works on a 3 Yearly cycle of Airfield
Damage Repair, Forward Air Operations and providing Infrastructure
as directed.
